John Platt's On Your Radar

Known for his intimate songwriting, his honey-on-gravel voice and pioneering guitar playing, UK artist John Smith has spent the last fifteen years touring internationally and has amassed over 55 million streams on Spotify. As a session musician he has played guitar with artists as diverse as Joan Baez, David Gray, Joe Henry, Lianne La Havas and Tom Jones. “The Fray” is Smith’s sixth studio album, written and recorded in a universally difficult 2020, and his vulnerability throughout is offered to his listeners, unadorned. From deep within the urban forest of Pittsburgh's East End, the Squirrel Hillbillies often emerge to share their eclectic mix of acoustic roots music. Through a collaborative, nonlinear songwriting process, duo partners Gary Crouth and Jenny Wolsk draw from personal experiences, third-hand stories, and vivid imaginations to craft songs that are unpredictable and quirky yet widely accessible. They have performed hundreds of shows and their recordings have been played on folk radio programs around the world. “Jellyfish on the Moon” is singer-songwriter Lisa Jeanette’s second album, and has charted at #4 on the FAI Folk DJ Chart for March 2021. A Philadelphia native, she earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Temple University. Jeanette has been finding her voice and honing her songwriting skills while being mentored by Vance Gilbert and attending Ellis Paul's songwriting retreats. Lisa is a multi-instrumentalist and accompanies herself on guitar, piano and sometimes a Harpsicle!
